We in the Care Committee want to cherish our peoples’ independence. But many of us, as we age, need to depend upon others to help with performing minor or essential tasks. This Committee will care for our community by providing meals, filling pill and vitamin boxes, driving them or accompanying them to hospital and/or doctor’s appointments, grocery shopping, light housework, picking up mail, or just being there for them in their time of need. Palliative and end-of-life care is also on our agenda.
Care giving can be very rewarding. Sometimes just holding someone’s hand, listening to their stories, or praying with them can be all they need to cross over in peace.
